Welcome to our wedding world

Larissa
& Richin

From Columbia and New York to Cappadocia and the Arabian desert, a personal guide to our wedding weekend.

0 · Hear, Hear

A note from the couple.

Dear family and friends,

Our wedding weekend draws from the many cultures, traditions, and religions that have shaped us as a couple. At its heart, this weekend is about our commitment to each other, and a celebration of the community that has raised, loved, and shaped us along the way!

On Friday, we’ll begin with a Sangeet: a joyful night of music, dance, and celebration rooted in Richin’s heritage and Larissa’s love of theatrics; a celebration that represents us truly. On Saturday, the mood will be a little bit serious and a lot joyous: vows at sunset, followed by a night of food, drinks, dancing, and time together, carrying us from sunset into the stars.

More than anything, we want this weekend to feel like a gathering of the people we love most, from all the different chapters of our lives. We are so excited to spend this time with our family and closest friends, to honor the traditions that matter to us, and to make space for joy, connection, and celebration in our own way!

We know this is a long trip, and we are deeply grateful to everyone who is able to make it! For those who cannot, we completely understand and look forward to celebrating with you another time.

With love,
Larissa and Richin

IV · Travel Companion

Flights, transfers, weather, and UAE notes.

Airport

Fly into Dubai

Dubai International Airport, DXB, is likely the easiest major international airport. Guests may also fly into Abu Dhabi, AUH, or Ras Al Khaimah, RKT. Sofitel Al Hamra is about one hour from DXB.

Hotel

Sofitel Al Hamra

The wedding weekend is centered around Sofitel Al Hamra, a beautiful coastal Arabian resort in Ras Al Khaimah. Friday’s Sangeet will take place at a separate RAK venue, with transportation provided. A room block has been arranged, and the booking link will be shared shortly.

Airport Transfers

Taxi, Uber, Careem

There are a number of ways to get around in the UAE - the couple encourages using a ride-hailing app (Uber or Careem) or local taxis to get around. For any requests or travel inquiries, please let the couple know and they are happy to help.

Location

Ras Al Khaimah

RAK is a neighboring emirate to Dubai, about 45 minutes away by car depending on route and traffic, a scenic nature and adventure hub known for its rugged mountains and pristine beaches.

Weather

February comfort

February is generally comfortable in the UAE: roughly 15°C–25°C / 59°F–77°F, with cooler mornings/evenings and warm afternoons. Pack light layers for desert and beach events.

Tourism

Come early

We encourage guests to come early and enjoy the UAE before the wedding. Ramadan is often a quieter time to visit, while travel is expected to pick up around Eid al-Fitr the following week. From culture, museums, and architecture to desert adventures, beaches, shopping, dining, and nature escapes, there is so much to explore. Please refer to Richin and Larissa’s guide to the UAE for recommendations!

The Desert Concierge (Please be gentle, I'm still learning!)

Welcome to the Desert Concierge. Ask me about travel, attire, events, weather, transport, or how to make the most of the wedding weekend.
